Wyoming Trial Court Permanently Blocks Anti-Abortion, Pill Laws

Wyoming can’t enforce laws that ban nearly all abortions in the state, including a first-of-its kind provision that outlaws prescribing and using abortion-inducing pills like mifepristone, a state trial judge said.

Judge Melissa M. Owens of the Wyoming District Court for Teton County on Monday granted summary judgment and an order permanently barring enforcement for Chelsea’s Fund, Circle of Hope Health Care Services Inc., two doctors, and two patients who argued that the provisions ran afoul of the Wyoming Constitution.
