Wyoming Nursing Home Must Pay Full Jury Award for Negligence

A Wyoming nursing home is liable for all the damages a jury awarded to a deceased resident’s daughter after finding the home, its employees, and an agent negligent in caring for the resident, the state’s top court said.

A trial judge wrongly reduced Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center’s damages to an amount equal to the percentage of fault the jury assigned to it, thereby excluding an amount attributed to negligence by the agent, the Wyoming Supreme Court said Wednesday.
