WTO Vaccine IP-Waiver Talks Move to Compromise, Spokesman Says

World Trade Organization delegates are closer to reaching a compromise on waiving intellectual-property protections for Covid-19 vaccines as a way to address shortages of the shots, spokesman Keith Rockwell said.

“There seems to be some some subtle shifting in the direction of compromise from both sides,” Rockwell said in a briefing in Geneva following the body’s general council meeting on Wednesday. “I would say that the discussions today were constructive and certainly would encourage one to believe that compromise is possible.”
