White House Assails China Opposition to Wuhan Lab-Leak Probe

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki accused China of “stonewalling” a World Health Organization investigation into origins of the coronavirus, including the possibility it escaped a Chinese lab, after Beijing said it wouldn’t participate.

“We are deeply disappointed,” Psaki said at a briefing for reporters. “Their position is irresponsible and, frankly, dangerous.”

She said the WHO’s proposed phase-two investigation of the virus’s origins “is about saving lives in the future.”

“It’s not a time to be stonewalling,” she added.
