West Virginia Spine Doctor Wins Partial Retrial in Injury Suit

A West Virginia jury must redetermine a portion of the $10 million in damages awarded to a motorcycle accident victim in his case against a spinal surgeon whose negligence in 2017 left him paraplegic, a state appeals court said.

Physician John Orphanos will be able to present expert testimony about the expected costs of Michael Rodgers’ future care and treatment, the West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals said Thursday.
