Wells Fargo Employees Appeal Lawsuit on Prescription Drug Costs

A group of former Wells Fargo & Co. employees are appealing to the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit after a federal judge in Minnesota dismissed their lawsuit challenging prescription drug costs in the company’s employee health plan.

Judge Laura M. Provinzino of the US District Court for the District of Minnesota in March rejected the plaintiffs’ claims that Wells Fargo breached its fiduciary duties by contracting with pharmacy benefit manager Express Scripts Inc., saying that the line between drug prices and employees’ out-of-pocket costs was “not a one-to-one relationship.”
