Washington state sued the Trump administration over a new rule that rolls back protections in health care for LGBTQ people, women, and people who aren’t fluent in English.
The state attorney general argues the rule is unconstitutional and unlawfully allows discrimination in health care in violation of the Affordable Care Act, according to a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. The ACA was enacted to increase, not limit, the number of people with health-care insurance, he said.
