Walgreen Co. has agreed pay $11 million to settle a class action under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act alleging the retail pharmacy chain placed prerecorded robocalls to millions of customers’ mobile phones, reminding them to refill their prescriptions (Kolinek v. Walgreen Co., N.D. Ill., 1:13-cv-04806, proposed settlement filed 3/26/15).
The memorandum in support of preliminary approval of the class action settlement, filed March 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, proposed the creation of an $11 million fund from which all claims would be paid.
