Health-care providers will be able to tap into $100 billion meant to bolster their finances during the outbreak of the coronavirus. Rural hospitals fear they won’t get a fair share of the fund, included in the emerging $2 trillion economic stimulus and relief deal.
The legislation set to be passed by the Senate as soon as Wednesday would create the $100 billion program to provide direct aid to health-care facilities—including hospitals, non-profits, and public health institutions—to cover the costs related to testing and caring for people with the new coronavirus, according to congressional aides.
