Virginia Election Becomes Ground Zero for Abortion-Rights Groups

Abortion-rights groups have spent more than $3 million on a handful of races in Virginia in Tuesday’s elections, making the state an early testing ground for how the issue will affect statehouses around the country.

Organizations such as Emily’s List and Planned Parenthood have combined to outspend, by far, anti-abortion groups such as the Susan B. Anthony List in an effort to help Democrats take control of both chambers of the Virginia statehouse.
