Vein Treatment Chain Fails to Block Medicare Fraud Claims

USA Vein Clinics and its founding physician, Yan Katsnelson, face prolonged fraud litigation brought by a former employee who claimed the company billed for procedures Katsnelson never performed (United States ex rel. Zverev v. USA Vein Clinics of Chi., LLC, 2017 BL 95857, N.D. Ill., No. 12-cv-8004, 3/27/17).

Whistle-blower Constantine Zverev, who worked as a data analyst said he uncovered the alleged fraud through his investigation of USA Vein Clinics’ patient databases, which revealed several instances in which Katsnelson had billed Medicare for multiple laser therapy procedures in different cities around the country on the same days.
