Vaccine Stocks Down After Report on Push to Scrap Covid Shots

Makers of Covid-19 vaccines are among the worst performers within health-care stocks Monday after a report in the Daily Beast that the US government will move to pull mRNA jabs from the market “within months.”

  • In a story published before the market open in New York, Daily Beast cites comments by cardiologist Aseem Malhotra, an associate of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health secretary who has been reshaping US vaccine policy
  • Among mRNA vaccine makers: Moderna shares -6.0%, BioNTech ADRs -5.1%; Pfizer -2.8%
    • Novavax, whose Covid vaccine is protein-based, is down 4.7%
