A mother’s fight to shield her daughter from vaccinations on religious grounds won’t get Supreme Court review, despite pleas that the case is nationally important amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Albena Ammann moved for custody over her daughter after her ex-husband began “clandestinely” vaccinating their child for DTaP and other pre-pandemic shots, according to a Supreme Court petition filed in late 2021. But ex-husband Marc Ammann fought back and won, with a New Jersey trial court doubting the sincerity of the mother’s religious convictions against vaccines.
