US Pausing Childcare Funding to All States, ABC News Says

The US Department of Health and Human Services is pausing childcare funding to all states, ABC News reports, citing an official from HHS.

• Funds will be released “only when states prove they are being spent legitimately,” HHS spokesman tells ABC
• Federal funding recipients in Minnesota and “those suspected of fraudulent activity” have to give HHS additional records, HHS spokesman says
