U.S. Joins FCA Case Against Prime Healthcare and CEO

The Department of Justice has intervened in a whistle-blower case alleging the CEO of a hospital company pressured emergency room doctors to admit patients in 14 California hospitals who should have been treated as outpatients, placed on observation status or discharged (United States ex rel. Berntsen v. Prime Healthcare Servs., C.D. Cal., 2:11-cv-08214-PJW, intervention 5/24/16).
