US Is Investigating Meta for Role in Sale of Drugs, WSJ Says

US prosecutors are investigating Meta Platforms Inc. to establish whether its social-media platforms are facilitating and profiting from the illicit sale of drugs, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday.

Authorities in Virginia have sent subpoenas and requested records as part of a criminal grand jury probe, according to the newspaper, which cited documents it had seen and sources familiar with the matter whom it didn’t identify. The US Food and Administration has been assisting with the probe, WSJ said.
