UPS Reaches Agreement With DOJ Over Illegal Online Pharmacy Shipments

The Department of Justice announced March 29 that it has agreed to a nonprosecution agreement (NPA) with United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS), in which the company will forfeit $40 million in payments received from illicit online pharmacies.

The company will implement a compliance program to ensure that illegal online pharmacies will not be able to use the company’s services to distribute drugs, DOJ said. The DOJ noted that “UPS has cooperated fully with the investigation and has already taken steps to ensure that illegal Internet Pharmacies can no longer use its services to ship drugs.”
