UnitedHealthcare Exit From Iowa Medicaid Stirs Legislative Push

Democrats in Iowa are renewing their push to replace the state’s privatized Medicaid system with a traditional state-run fee-for-service plan after the second health company in as many years severed relations with the state.

UnitedHeathcare served 427,00 Iowans in fiscal year 2018. It said March 31 it’s still working out the details about how they will be transferred to another manager of their Medicaid benefits.
