The U.S. government has partially intervened in a whistleblower’s False Claims Act suit accusing Omega Imaging Inc. and a doctor of submitting claims to Medicare for radiology services that lacked proper physician supervision, the Justice Department said.
The defendants, which operate 11 radiology facilities in Southern California, are also accused of providing services at facilities that lacked proper accreditation, the DOJ said in a Tuesday announcement.
Whistleblower Syd Ackerman, who previously provided consulting services to the defendants, filed his initial complaint at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in December 2013.
