Two Men Convicted in Medicare Advantage, Medicaid Fraud Scheme

Two men have been convicted by jury for their roles in a scheme to defraud Medicare Advantage and Medicaid managed care plans of over $3.8 million, the Department of Justice said Tuesday.

Ikechukwu Udeokoro owned Meik Medical Equipment and Supply, a durable medical equipment supplier in the Bronx, New York and Ayodeji Fasonu was the company’s manager, the agency said.

The two billed Medicare Advantage and Medicaid managed care plans for patient support systems, including devices to lift immobile patients, that were never given to patients. the DOJ said. Instead, Udeokoro and Fasonu provided recliner chairs that had a seat ...
