The Trump administration is challenging a federal judge’s order temporarily protecting some Planned Parenthood affiliates from Medicaid cuts in the president’s multi-trillion-dollar tax and spending law.
The US Department of Health and Human Services filed a notice of appeal Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts, a day after Judge Indira Talwani partially enjoined the administration from enforcing the law’s one-year prohibition on Medicaid reimbursements to large reproductive health centers that offer abortion care.
The federal government’s appeal sends the case to the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
