President Donald Trump’s threats to send troops to Chicago as part of a crime and immigration crackdown has prompted the delay of a festival celebrating Mexican Independence Day.

Organizers of the two-day event scheduled to take place in Grant Park in the heart of downtown Chicago on Sept. 13 and 14 said it will be postponed to ensure safety. The festival, known as El Grito, is organized by the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Mexican Consulate in Chicago and Somos Hospitality.
