Trump Nominates Saphier for Surgeon General, Pulls Means (4)

President Donald Trump pulled the nomination of wellness entrepreneur Casey Means to be US surgeon general and named Nicole Saphier, a radiologist, to replace her.

The reversal is the second time Trump has withdrawn a pick for role of the nation’s top doctor. In May, he announced Means would replace Fox News contributor Janette Nesheiwat shortly before her confirmation hearing.

Trump announced the news on Truth Social. Saphier is director of breast imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Monmouth in New Jersey and a former Fox News contributor.
