Trump Presses OPEC to Slash Oil Prices in Quest to Squeeze Putin

President Donald Trump reiterated his call for OPEC “to cut the price of oil,” arguing a decline could starve Russia of revenue and put a halt to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Trump’s comments, delivered as he arrived to survey hurricane damage in Asheville, North Carolina, mark the second time in as many days the president has pressured the group to boost crude output. It’s a way to end the “crazy war” in Ukraine, Trump said Friday.
