President Donald Trump on Monday named Walter Cruickshank as acting Interior Secretary and James Payne as acting EPA administrator.
Cruickshank has served since 2011 as deputy director of the Interior Department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management and previously served as deputy director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement and former Minerals Management Service beginning in 2002.
He will serve as acting Interior secretary until the Senate confirms Trump’s nominee, former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R).
