The Senate health panel advanced President Donald Trump’s nomination to run the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Wednesday as the agency faces criticism over its changes to vaccine recommendations and an immunization advisory committee.
Susan Monarez, who formerly served as the acting director of the CDC, will next be considered by the full Senate after the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee voted 12-11 to send her nomination to the floor.
