A Missouri law banning certain types of medical treatments for transgender minors violates the state constitution and will cause irreparable harm if not blocked before its scheduled Aug. 28 effective date, plaintiffs challenging the provision told a state court.
Three transgender youths and their parents, medical providers, and transgender advocacy groups sued state officials in the Cole County Circuit Court, alleging that the provision unlawfully prohibits medically necessary, evidence-based health care when it’s used to treat transgender minors with gender dysphoria.
