Trans Care Decision Should Be Vacated, Georgia Official Says

A federal trial court should vacate an order blocking Georgia from enforcing a gender-affirming care ban because its governing appeals court has rejected the core legal theories that supported the decision, a state official said.

On Tuesday Georgia Department of Community Health Commissioner Russel Carlson asked the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia to reconsider its preliminary injunction in light of an opinion from the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit that allowed a similar Alabama law to take effect pending trial.
