Toyota Concealed Hydrogen Fuel Shortages, Hybrid Owners Claim

Toyota failed to warn hybrid vehicle buyers in California of hydrogen fuel shortages in the state, according to a proposed class-action lawsuit filed against the automaker.

The company and its salespeople promised customers who bought the Toyota Mirai hybrid vehicle that hydrogen refueling would be widely available, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.

“While Toyota sells the Mirai while assuring consumers that hydrogen refueling is available, seamless, and comparable to refueling with gasoline, that is not the case,” the lawsuit states.
