Tougher Nursing Home Ownership Transparency Final Rule Sought

Supporters of a plan to boost disclosure requirements for nursing home owners want the Biden administration to put more teeth in the proposal in order to increase transparency.

In public comments on the measure, groups like the AARP and Public Citizen joined labor unions, patient advocacy groups, and even Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) in supporting the proposed rule (RIN: 0938-AU90) that aims to help consumers sort out nursing homes’ often confusing ownership structures.
