Top California Court OKs Hospital Repeat Use of Hearing Officer

Hospitals that employ the same hearing officer in multiple peer review cases may not necessarily be violating doctors’ rights to be free from bias, the California Supreme Court ruled Thursday.

The court for the second time in two months considered the peer review system that hospitals and health systems use to discipline doctors in the name of public safety.
