Vibra Healthcare LLC, a national operator of rehabilitation hospitals, will pay $6.25 million to settle allegations of improper Medicare billing practices at a hospital in El Paso, Texas, the Department of Justice said Nov. 13.
Highlands Rehabilitation Hospital in El Paso failed to ensure that its patients were examined at least three times per week by a qualified physician, as required under Medicare rules for inpatient rehabilitation facilities, the DOJ said in a press release.
