Texas Home Health Owners Indicted in $24M Medicare Fraud Case

Federal prosecutors April 13 announced that they had indicted a Houston couple on charges they fraudulently billed more than $24 million to Medicare through several home health companies (United States v. Amos, S.D. Tex., 4:17-cr-00197, criminal complaint, 3/17/17).

Oluyemisi Amos and her husband, Felix Amos, were charged in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in an eight-count indictment with conspiracy to commit health-care fraud, health-care fraud and money laundering, prosecutors said.

The couple took over Advanced Holistic Healthcare Services Inc. in 2011 and allegedly submitted claims to Medicare for home health services for beneficiaries ...
