Texas Fights Shutdown of Fetal, Embryonic Remains Law

Texas wants a federal appeals court to uphold a state law that requires human fetal and embryonic remains to be buried or cremated.

The provision, known as Chapter 697, doesn’t place an unconstitutional burden on abortion or irrationally single out abortion providers, Texas said Nov. 19 in a brief to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
