Tennessee Surgeon Unable to Limit Former Employer’s Practice

A Tennessee hospital defeated a former employee’s bid to limit its bariatric surgery practice pending trial on the employee’s discharge-related claims after a federal court ruled that it wouldn’t remedy his alleged harms.

Robert Wegner, formerly the director of the bariatric surgery program at St. Francis Hospital and its only qualified surgeon, lacked standing to temporarily halt the practice, the US District Court for the Western District of Tennessee said Monday.
