The US won’t have to immediately reinstate Tennessee’s participation in a family planning program that dropped the state when it refused to comply with an abortion referral rule.
The state’s motion for a preliminary injunction, denied Monday by Judge Travis R. McDonough of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, would have required the US Department of Health and Human Services to pay it at least some of the approximately $30 million dollars it was awarded through March 31, 2027.
