ATLANTA—The health care industry is forecasting high demand for health information technology professionals in 2011—from developers to help desk workers—to assist with the anticipated shift in physician practices and hospitals to electronic medical records, according to a report released Oct. 12 by Menlo Park, Ca.-based information technology employment company Robert Half Technology.
The report, Robert Half Technology Salary Guide 2011, found that in many areas of the United States, there is a growing need among health care organizations for IT professionals with the expertise to install and support electronic health records.
