Two health technology companies will face charges that they conspired to monopolize electronic prescription services after failing to shake a lawsuit brought by nine community pharmacies.
Surescripts LLC is on the hook for allegedly maintaining inflated service charges and walling off competitors through illegal monopolization. The pharmacies claim Surescripts offered Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. a cut of incentives from transactions with Allscripts’ customers so the latter would stay out of the e-prescription marketplace. Allscripts is also a defendant in the case.
