Medical groups’ lawsuit to block HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s directive to no longer recommend Covid-19 vaccines for healthy children and pregnant women can proceed despite the government shutdown, a federal judge ordered Thursday.
Judge Brian Murphy of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts lifted a stay placed on the proceedings in early October by the former judge on the case, William Young. The Department of Justice had requested the stay due to the lapse in appropriations, and the attorneys for the American Academy of Pediatrics and other plaintiffs initially consented.
