Washington, Others Sue Trump to Nix Transgender Care Order (2)

Washington, Oregon, and Minnesota sued President Donald Trump and other federal officials on Friday over an executive order that threatens to strip federal funds from health-care entities that provide gender-affirming care for youths under 19.

The states, joined by several anonymous physicians, asked the US District Court for the Western District of Washington to immediately halt enforcement of the executive order. Without an injunction, researchers, medical schools, and hospitals likely will lose over a billion dollars in funding, much of which is used to research and treat conditions unrelated to gender dysphoria, the states said.
