The US Department of Education unlawfully discontinued grants that enable schools to offer mental health services to their students, especially those in low-income and rural areas, 16 states said in a new complaint against the agency.
Congress created two grant programs to provide students with mental health services, but they’ll be unable to access those services at the start of the new school year, thanks to the actions of the department and Secretary Linda McMahon, the Washington-led coalition said.
