States that provide Medicaid-like coverage for undocumented immigrants are pushing back hard against assertions by Trump health official Mehmet Oz that they are improperly using federal dollars to fund those programs.
In a social media post on X, Oz on Friday released the results of a preliminary audit of the District of Columbia and five states with state-funded health programs for undocumented immigrants. Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, said all six surveyed had been “improperly using federal tax dollars for their allegedly state-funded program.”
