State Names HIT Coordinator For $10.3 Million in ARRA Funding

CHICAGO—The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration May 14 named the vice president for provider networks and operations at a Logansport, Ind., hospital as the state’s first health information technology coordinator.

Beginning in June, Andrew VanZee will be responsible for managing the allocation of the $10.3 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 HIT funding the state received in March, working closely with the Indiana Health Information Technology Inc. (IHIT) to determine the best use for the ARRA funding, according to FSSA.
