State Farm Legal Battle Seeks Answer From Florida High Court

State Farm’s legal battle with a chiropractor over reimbursement claims will need the Florida’s top judicial body to answer a question on state law before proceeding, a federal appeals court ruled.

A US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit panel said the Florida Supreme Court needs to decide whether the state’s Health Care Clinic Act requires clinics “wholly owned” by licensed health practitioners to comply with state and federal laws in order to secure reimbursement from insurance companies.
