Stanford Freezes Hiring as Schools Face Trump Funding Threat (1)

Stanford University is implementing a hiring freeze as colleges and universities across the US confront the threat of severe funding cuts from the Trump administration.

The Trump administration this month moved tocurtail a type of research funding for universities from the National Institutes of Health. The proposal was paused by a judge amid legal challenges, but Stanford has said the change would reduce its funding by approximately $160 million per year.
