Staley Was ‘Surprised’ at Epstein’s 2019 Sex Trafficking Arrest

Jes Staley said he was “shocked and surprised” after Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in July 2019 by US federal authorities and charged with the sex trafficking of minors.

While Epstein had pleaded guilty in 2008 to two charges of soliciting a prostitute — and ultimately served 13 months in a Florida state prison for his crimes — Staley had believed that had been an “isolated transgression.”
