Southeast Michigan Beacon Community To Expand Offerings Using Michigan HIN

The Southeast Michigan Beacon Community (SEMBC), which serves the Detroit area, has entered into an agreement with the Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN) that will expand SEMBC’s local health information exchange, BeaconLink2Health.

The agreement will provide access for BeaconLink2Health users to MiHIN’s statewide and interstate technology and infrastructure, SEMBC and MiHIN said in a Sept. 30 statement.

SEMBC is one of 17 Beacon Communities established by the federal Office for the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology that addresses health care delivery and cost improvements through the use of health IT. MiHIN is a statewide health information exchange (HIE) organization ...
