Calumet Shreveport Refining LLC dropped its lawsuit challenging the Environmental Protection Agency’s denial of its request seeking small refinery exemptions to renewable fuel standards.
The Fifth Circuit on Monday granted the refiner’s request to dismiss its case originally filed in January 2025.
- Calumet in December asked for voluntary dismissal since the EPA replaced the denial with a new administrative decision for the 2023 compliance year
- The refinery is now challenging that new decision separately—one of many suits the agency has faced over exemption decisions
- The motion for voluntary dismissal was unopposed by the EPA
