Shell’s Big Bet on LNG Gets Backing From Shareholders in Vote

Shell Plc investors back the company’s big bet on the future of liquefied natural gas, rejecting a shareholder resolution that questioned the compatibility of the company’s plans with long-term climate commitments.

More than 79% of Shell investors voted against a resolution at their annual general meeting on Tuesday that asked the company to disclose more information about how its forecasts for LNG demand, production, sales and new projects are consistent with the target of net-zero emissions by 2050.
