Settlement by NBA Hopeful’s Estate With Team Doctor Approved

The estate of Zeke Upshaw, once a rising basketball star who died on the court while playing for a minor league NBA affiliate of the Detroit Pistons in March 2018, won approval of a confidential settlement with the affiliate team’s doctor.

Upshaw played for the Grand Rapids Drive, a Gatorade League team. He collapsed and died from cardiac arrest in the final minute of the team’s final game of the season.
